Who is around you?

Company shapes a psychedelic experience, and it is worth treating the people around you as part of the setup. If you will have people around, it is worth thinking through, ahead of time, who will actually be there.

If you expect other people around, you may want to consider:

  • Who will be there, and do you know them well?
  • Is at least one person staying sober and able to help if needed?
  • Can anyone leave or step out without it becoming a problem?
  • What have you agreed about touch, photos, conversation, and privacy?
  • If something feels off, who would you turn to?

None of this guarantees an easy time. It just means the people around you have talked about it before anything starts, instead of during.

If you are planning to be alone, that is a real and common choice, not a gap in this plan. See the companion card on what that changes and what it does not.
