Preparing alongside someone
Two people can share the same plan and end up in very different places. One of you may be deeply moved; the other may feel mostly the same as before. Ahead of the day, that is not a problem to solve — it is a possibility worth agreeing on.
You may want to talk about it in plain terms: if our experiences differ a lot, what does each of us want to do? Who would we call? Is anything best decided while we are still ourselves?
Agreeing ahead of time does not make the experience match. It makes the divergence something you already said you could handle.
